Bio: I'm a full time electronics designer and part time photographer.

Snaar.co.uk represents my photo output from 1998-2010 and tend  to concentrate on Landscapes, Abstracts, Shapes and Patterns.

Take time to have a wander around the galleries. The image descriptions hint at the story behind each picture.

If you have a comment you can email me ... pete at snaar do co dot uk

If you are interested in Olympus digital SLRs, then I recommend the UK E-group forum. You will find me there under the name Snaarman :-)

And my gallery on the uk e-group forum is here.

Pete's Custom Photoshop Filters

When downsampling images for the web I prefer the look of these quasi sin(x)/x  filter coefficients to Photoshop's unsharp mask

Monitor Calibration

You will find these monitor calibration patches from place to place. To get the best from these images adjust your monitor so you can see

the six smaller rectangles in the black and white areas.

The image is more important than the gear, but for the record...

The film images use Sensia, Provia100F, Ilford Delta 100 or HP5 films

From 1998 - 2005 I used these Nikon cameras: FE, F801s, F60, FE2, EM, and the humble FED50

More recent digital pictures used: Fuji S2, 2800 and S602, Olympus C8080, E-400, E-510 and E620 cameras

I use Adobe DNG (tm) to import raw files from the Olympus to Photoshop CS3 (tm)

The Galleries were created using a customised template for XnView - which I thoroughly recommend.
